Recycling Plastic Crates and Trays

Green Ant Plastic Recycling offer a wide range of plastic recycling services across the UK, including a service for recycling plastic crates (beer crates, milk crates etc) and for plastic tray recycling (ie. bread trays, , chicken trays and other food trays) .

We are actively facilitating plastic recycling of all types of UK thermoplastic waste including plastic crates and plastic trays (particularly those made from Polypropylene / PP and Polyethylene / PE) to increase the UK plastic recycling rate and help the country meet its plastic recycling targets.

UK Wide Collections

Using an extensive network of plastic recycling associates across the UK, we are able to offer UK wide collections of your PP and PE plastic crates and trays for recycling, and a comprehensive set of recycling services including the shredding and granulation of the crates and trays and, compounding of the resultant plastic regrind into a product that then can easily be injection moulded into new plastic products (maybe even new crates or trays).

Unfortunately, due to the lightweight nature of plastics we do require a minimum weight of plastic crates and trays to be collected for recycling. This minimum weight is currently 1 tonne (1000 Kgs) for FREE collections and these collections will be scheduled to co-incide with other collections of crates, trays and other plastics for recycling in your area.

We hope that in the future we can decrease the minimum weight of bottle caps required for each collection and that we can increase the frequency of collections.

Larger Collections

Environmental Commitment

Green Ant are committed to the environment and by using our network of plastic recycling associates rather than one central plastic recycling facility, we aim to minimise the environmental impact and carbon footprint of transporting and recycling your plastic crates and plastic trays for recycling.

Using plastic recycling facilities that are as close to the collection point as possible and by optimising the volume of crates, trays and other plastics collected on each vehicle is not only more environmentally friendly but means we can often collect smaller volumes of plastics than other larger plastic recycling companies are prepared to do.

Crate and Tray Recycling Requirements

There are no specific requirements for the recycling of your crates and trays. However, it is appreciated if you can segregate on Polypropylene (PP) crates and trays from Polyethylene (PE) ones.
